Enoch’s Summer Camp (VBS) 2023
Again this summer we’ve decided to kick off our Vacation Bible School week (affectionately known as Enoch’s Summer Camp), with a Family Fun Fair on Sunday, August 6 from 3pm to 7pm. As the name implies, this is a time for you and your whole family – come on out, bring Grandpa and Grandma if you like, have a hot dog, play a game, visit with neighbors, check out Lucien’s paintboard and gospel illustrations, make new friends, and just have a nice time with your family.
Monday, August 7 will kick off Vacation Bible School. VBS is best friends with our weekly Enoch’s Club on Friday evenings, but for this special week (August 7 – 11) the children get to come out each evening Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 8:30pm. What’s it like, you wonder? Here’s a little slideshow from last year.
In a world where many things are upside down, our goal is to create a week that’s right side up for your children – a week to have fun, to make friends, and to learn what a right side up world looks like. In a right side up world we learn from the Bible about our Creator, the difference between right and wrong, and how to escape the fear of death and have a sure hope for eternity – the promise of heaven.
Who, you might wonder, will be leading the lessons this year? The answer is our very own Doug Dixon. Doug is follower of Jesus Christ, an engaging storyteller, and a man who knows his Bible and his Lord well. We’re sure that the children will enjoys his lessons. In fact, you also might enjoy sticking around and listening as Doug teaches the children about some of the big, life-changing ideas in the Bible.
These are big ideas for little people, and in a right side up world that means that we should enjoy some of the good things God has given us – legs to play games, fingers to do crafts, tongues to enjoy snacks, and minds to know God and hearts to love Him – because He first loved us.
