Assembly Meetings

Worship and Breaking of Bread

One of perhaps our most unique meetings, this meeting is where we come together to focus on the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ, with a particular emphasis on His death, burial, and resurrection.  The ministry is not directed outward (to the community), nor inward (to those present), but upward – to God.   Within this theme, the content of the meeting is not pre-arranged; rather we rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit to elicit from those present that which would bring glory to the Lord Jesus.  The men are responsible for leading the corporate worship of the assembly; the ladies participate silently, though no less really.

Family Bible Hour

This is the meeting where we have systematic preaching and teaching of God’s Word. We have been in the practice of mainly choosing a book of the Bible and systematically teaching through the book. Sometimes we may have a series on a Bible topic or topics that may span several months.

Sunday School

We have a separate time for the children ages 2 to 12 years for learning about the Bible. We have classes divided by age and/or gender (as class size permits).  The teachers are dedicated to teaching the Bible to the children. The curriculum varies at times as the needs of the children change.

The Sunday School time upstairs may be a continuation of the Bible hour teaching, a second topic, or a time for more interactive Bible teaching.  Sometimes we also give younger brothers opportunity during this time.

Wednesday Prayer, Praise and Ministry

This midweek meeting is devoted, primarily, to prayer.  The meeting is begun with the reading of letters from missionaries and organizations supported by the assembly, and the sharing of needs that have been brought to the attention of the elder taking responsibility for the meeting.  We then join in prayer and praise, led by the men, related to these items and the life of the assembly.  Afterwards there is often a time of teaching or perhaps a presentation from a visiting missionary.

Ladies Missionary Class

This is a time for the ladies of the assembly to get together for a time of fellowship around a project for missionaries. They may have a lady missionary speak if available. The ladies also have regular correspondence with and, as available, support for certain missionaries.  A traditional project is the purchase and distribution of the Choice Gleanings calendar to missionaries around the world.

Enoch’s Club

This is an evangelistic club for children ages 5 – 15. There is a time for games, food and Bible teaching. We encourage anybody of this age group to come and join in a time of Bible teaching and fun.
